16 million swiss franks

Srsly how the wibbly flibble do they get to cream off that much money from 40 odd nations for a cruddy singing contest and for what???

We all know from the Father Ted documentary series that the host nations have to pay the running costs each year

Just over a million quid a year for all those hours of tv, seems pretty cheap to me, especially if you compare it to sports broadcasting.

What hours of TV outside of one Saturday night a year?

Also a huge amount of sports broadcasting, particularly the bogeyman football, is now is on Advertising funded or subscription only channels, it's effectively paying for itself by these means or Sky et al wouldn't be paying so heavily for it and losing money, they're not PSB's

If only it were one night a year, you are lucky that you can forget about the two semi-finals and the numerous spin off shows.

All about encoding standards for the wireless broadcast of televisual pictures innit.

My personal gripe is that Palestine are not allowed to take part.
