Won't be eating any of those Chinese chips. I want my chips battered and cooked in beef dripping as RT says until they're bright orange then served with faggots and mushy peas.

Always wondered what a Chinese take away omelette's like though.
My local Chinese takeaway does nice crisp chips which I prefer to some of the greasy 'English' chips I've tried.

I used to buy a Vegetable Foo Yung with chips about once a week. A Foo Yung is an omelette with other things folded into it. The veggie ones I buy have beansprouts, tomatoes, peas and other vegetables added in. I like them!

We (and that is the Royal We - note the use of the initial capital), lives in the Home Counties, Dahling (actually, is Aamshuur in the Home Counties? We isn't sure ...), and We doesn't eat "chips" round here, We has "Frites" (that's the French influence, probably from the Royal Court), which we nibbles delicately with a battered sausage, which we also nibbles delicately. It is not possible to buy gravy or curry sauce for Our Frites, such things are base, and completely beneath us.

When I read the title of this post I instantly thought of Liverpool, my Scouse mate from uni told me about the phenomenon and agreed that our separate fish and chip shops are much better than the crappy hybrids back in Liverpool. She said they don't do battered sausages either, which is frankly disgraceful.
