Parkgate fish and chips near me (well sort of) is the best I've found locally, cost is around £12. The chippy just around the corner is about £9.
It's quite sad that what was once a cheap staple is now a borderline luxury, but with inflated fuel and food costs, it's not entirely surprising. If I was doing something like lejog though I'd budget for it though for sure. Worth it for the comfort factor.
Generally though I get a sausage dinner as it's cheaper and comes with gravy.
