Back to the OP......my grandson who is 25 and will eat anything went to a local chippy last night for chips and peas. He gave me some for a butty.
They were anaemic and warm at best.
I put mine in the air fryer, on max crisp, for 2 minutes. Just about edible.

My problem at the moment ( and for the rest of my life!) is to find ones that do F&C gluten-free

which is a right pain in the whatsit because it means finding ones that understand that that means frying the chips in fat that has NEVER had any battered anything in it

The local Widnes one used to do that but has stopped
we have found another but it is in Whiston

still - at least we have one!

Not very practical I know , but a good chip shop in South Yorkshire is know for gluten free. The guy who owns it is a has coeliac disease so it really is gluten free.
