I've been an all year round cyclist all my life but I must admit since going fixed a couple of years ago I do notice the cold in the winter a bit more.

Is this because:

It's fooking freezing?
I'm getting old?
You do move around much less on a fixed?

I think the nature of fixed wheel riding negates this option! :S

I reckon it is.

I've been riding the 'cross bike recently because my fat winter tyres won't fit on the fixed. From the get-go I put it in a low gear and spin to get warm, once I've generated a bit of heat I'm fine. Fixed I only get to properly spin on a couple of sections of my commute, and they aren't at the start of my commute.

I could gear down for the winter of course.

Nah, fixed won't make you colder..............riding slower might due to conditions............. mine has been in the garage last 3 weeks - studded MTB instead.......

I mean your hands, no gears, feet clipped in. I was moving pretty fast this morning.
