Failing to stop for a red light is a small fine, or at most a large fine if you choose to take it to magistrates court and lose. You won't have to tell (most) employers about it.

Pervert the course of justice is straight to crown court with the option of a custodial sentence. You'll have to disclose your dishonesty to every employer.

Your call.
