Flat bar to drops

Hi, looking for some friendly advice.
I'd like to change my Scott S50 flab bar to drop bars. The trouble is it has a triple crankset and a 8 speed cassette with shimano shifters and dérailleurs.
I've seen shimano do a 2300 sora shifter in a 8 speed triple but would any others work?, such as a 9 speed triple?.
Sorry if this seem a daft question but I'm stumped.

@Trying2tri i have a set of 8 x 3 sora sti's that would do the job only used for couple of months before being replaced . sure we could sort a deal out
