Hi folks

Hoping to pick the community brains here!

I've just picked up a Giant Escape 2 with Tektro 280 discs on it.
The front fork is aluminium which I find a bit sharp on my arthritic wrists and I want to go to a carbon fork (which I've done on other bikes to great effect
I've already got a carbon fork with post type disc mounts on it.
Is there any way of fitting this existing caliper to these forks via an adapter? Am I as well trying to get a different fork (expensive) or swapping out the caliper for a post mount type from the same brand and use the existing lever, piping etc?

Thanks!

You can fit post mount brakes to a flat mount fork with an adapter, but sadly not in reverse. There is nothing to stop you using post mount calipers instead of flat mount however. Personally I'd take the opportunity to upgrade to better brakes than the 280s, TRP Spyre brakes are an excellent alternative, and you'd only need to swap the front but that's where most of the braking occurs anyway.
