I've been going bananas the last couple of days, stuck indoors, ill with something like the flu, hence my inordinate number of unusually banal (even for me) posts on CC.

Today, in my boredom, I rediscovered and perfected eggy bread. I haven't had it since I was a child in single figures! My God, it was good!

I've discovered that the secret to really good eggy bread is to toast the bread first, then give it a good egging, then fry it. Then serve with bacon and beans.

What do you like when you're flu'ed up like a good'un?

You haven't got flu at all, you've just got a cold. If you had real flu you would not be sitting up typing on a computer, believe me!

Feed a cold, starve a fever, apparently.

I've got a cold now, and I comfort eat, which means mostly spahetti bolognaise for dinner.

Wrong, wrong wrong. Don't toast the bread, use more eggs and soak the bread longer. Fry in a medium pan so that it crisps outside and cooks inside (raw in the middle is not good). Serve with crispy bacon and brown sauce only.

I agree with Paulus' approach some nice comfort food that is easy to make. There is always the usual chicken soup with lots of veg (skip any cream).

Hope you feel better soon flu or cold!

Ah! Today it has been pizza! Lots of pizza ....

And thank the marvels of modern medicine for anibiotics!

I woke up this morning feeling unbelievably horrendous, face felt like it was going to explode, went to the Dr, she rammed various telescopic things up my nose, proclaimed that I have a bacterial infection of the sinuses, put me on antibiotics (the industrial-strength ones). I've taken one so far and I'm beginning to feel better already, after only a few hours!
