I've had flu jabs for around 4 years without any adverse effects at all. Strangely enough, even common colds now seem to be very rare as well. Has anybody else found that?

My wife and I are having ours on this coming Saturday.
I was gonna take Mrs F out for a meal, but this sounds cheaper... Hmm...

Had a flu jab a week ago and forgot about it in a few minutes. No effect whtsoever.

I recommend Echinacea for keeping the nasties at bay.

That reminds me - I've been advertising flu jabs for several weeks (including right now wearing a garish yellow t-shirt to do so), but haven't got round to my own jab yet. I'll get it at lunchtime.

I had flu once twenty years ago. It very nearly killed me and left me with worse Asthma than I had before. I have the jab every year and apart from a sore arm some years I have had no issues.
My missus has the jab too as she has a lung condition and flu would almost certainly would finish her off. Even a cold has landed her into hospital with pneumonia, twice in the last 9 years and both times were enough for me to fear I'd lose her.
Having/not having the jab is an individual choice but one thing is certain for some of us it's a life saver. As has been said before in this thread you can't catch flu from the jab, it isn't that kind of vaccine. Although I understand some people are allergic the eggs, used as a growth medium for the vaccine, and can be ill after their first jab, but not because of the flu.

I would never advocate medical treatments against someone's will, but I do get annoyed at people who don't get vaccinated without a bloody good reason. There are some people who for medical reasons cannot have certain vaccines. They rely on herd immunity for their protection. That is, they need the rest of the population to be 90% vaccinated to prevent the spread of the illness. Some of these illnesses that vaccination protects against are extremely serious.

I think, in general, people who refuse vaccinations are selfish idiots.

A female friend told me: "There's a jab for Man Flu - no-one has it though, men can't stand the thought of the needle going in".

I haven't thought of a reply yet, but I will.
