FNRttC images?

Hello fNrTtCoasters

I'm writing a book. I'd like some images of riders on road bikes for the chapter on road bikes.

I remember seeing a few nice shots last time I looked on the FnRtTc site but I can't seem to find them now.

Two questions: 1) Do any of you folks have any half decent images?

2) May I have permission to use them - in return for acknowledgement of course - in the book?

Your prompt reply would be most appreciated, thanks

Mick

mickle, any chance of a preview of the road bike chapter once it's ready?

It'd be nice to see how the pics are used and to read a bit of the book.

I understand if you'd prefer not too though; "Buy the book" and all that ...

Sure thing, I can show you the copy Monday, the layout should be finished midweek (did you read the chapter extract I sneaked into Fixed and Singlespeed?)

I don't think you'll be paying for your copy Shaun..

we've had a bit of a discussion about rights to images in the recent past. I think, Mickle, you might set the position out.

What I was seeking in the first instance was an image or two with which to illustrate our Road Bikes chapter introduction. Assuming you want the publicity such exposure would bring. Looking through the images people have shown me got me thinking that they deserve a story in their own right. There will be a whole section in the book entitled World Reports, so far we have stories from Rwanda, USA, N Korea.... But not from the UK yet. If someone would care to write it I'd love to include an article about the FNRttC phenomenon.

Of the hundreds of images lined up to be used the vast majority are from our own collection. Some are being donated in return for aknowledgements/credits and a very few are being paid for at commercial rates.

The plan is that any article which appears in the book will have an accompanying, more in-depth, article on the site.

I'm sorry, Mickle, I meant what would happen to the rights after publication? Tim D was asked to hand the rights over with the picture.

My photos are here: https://picasaweb.go...com/worzelbenga

FNRttC albums are prefixed as such, the other albums are mainly audax.

My latest favourite picture is of 'The witch tree' (Southend 2011). Not a cyclist in sight, but a sight only for FNRttC cyclists.

Looking forward to seeing your book.

And Aperitif, here is one for you, taken yesterday near St John's Gate.

Thank you! Of course, this leads to reading about The Order of St John, the fact that the Clerkenwell landmark has been chosen as a 'lapel pin' design for London in 2012.... and another ten minutes bites the dust!

Edited to add: Also, your photo albums are beautiful - the Whitstable 'brunch' being one of my favourite patterns!

Thank you too!

There is a ride to be done: cycle to all 2012 landmarks, including Honeywood.
