Just about. First 20 mile ride on Saturday and first commute today.

Arm gets a little sore from the vibrations but nothing too bad.

Now i need to get in as much riding as possible before the end of the month.

as a fellow elbow sufferer may I mention butterfly bars:evil:

I appreciate that I've not expressed myself well - the ride may be closed to new riders, but the old stagers are very welcome. As always I'm trying to make sure that the innocence is matched by the experience. Sorry, once again.

Good god man, what kind of Frankensteinian velocipedes do you create in that garage of yours?!xx( And here's me feeling bad about putting some 'guards on the vanity bike.

I've lost track of all the different things Al's changed on his bikes. The only reason I go on these rides is to see what new component he's trying out that week.

I believe next month he'll be taking this for a test ride

Wow, if I remember my Doolittle correctly that's the wheeled version of a 'push me pull me'.

Al, I like the look, have you done any distance on these?

yep did Whitstable so about 80 miles, fairly comfy but do need to tweak saddle fore/aft/height and stem to get right. The Giant is a size large in their measurements, compact geometry. For these style of bars the XL or even an XXL(if you can find one) would have been better. It's been much easier to dial them in on the 60cm Surly frame. Have got a thread in Know How as I'm scouting for a new frame. Problem is that a hybrid frame, ie brake bosses, geometry, etc, seems to fit the bill best but they only seem to sell as complete bikes. Though I could look at a compact road bike, go up a couple of sizes and sell off the bars and STI's.

Have I got this right? Your building a bike to suit the handlebars you've found?

This to me raises profound ontological questions. Where exactly is the thing that is the bike located? It might even be time to use the word noumenon! What? Am I not in P&L any more?
