Football pitches

    Is it me or have British football pitches undergone a renaissance in the last few years?

    Our pitches used to be waterlogged muddy affairs between November and March, yet, the few football matches I saw over this winter, the pitches looked like bowling greens.

    Yes they have! The days of ankle deep mud at the Baseball Ground have largely gone in the top flight. They lay new pitches in no time on a mesh I believe, but Wembley today is like aan icerink.
  3. You've not been up to Scotland then a lot of our tattie football fields are in a right state and the players aren't much better :laugh:
