Does anyone else worry about the environmental impact of all those empty plastic pod thingys?

Dragging up a zombie thread following some mail I received this morning, Nespresso are now doing Ecolaboration in this country, re-using the aluminium and either composting or burning for energy in a bio-waste incinerator.

I have a Cona coffee maker, which makes great coffee.
I'm also keen on Espresso after a meal, a Flat White or Macchiato from Costas, and I took quite a shine to caffe corretto in Sicily.
That's espresso with a shot of grappa in.

I've got a proper Italian espresso machine: couple of pressure dials, steam tube, hot water tube and of course the bit that you lock the coffee holder into. It's a stainless steel design classic. After that it is just a matter of using the right kind of water and finding a blend which hits your taste button. You also need a decent grinder. I keep the beans in the fridge and enough of them in the grinder for about four cups and then grind as part of the process of making a cup. The real beauty of it is that it is such a palaver to make a cup that you really have to want one and so I tend to end up having one a day in the early evening.

I buy 5-6 kilos of Vietnames coffee (http://www.trung-nguyen-online.co.uk/) when I'm in Cambodia and it lasts a fair while. 'Tis the best ground coffee I've tasted.

My usual coffee mug is from the US and holds 30fl oz, which is 1.5 pints or about 0.8l. It is called "the bucket".
