£450
1992 Brompton L3 (Lightweight, 3 Speed) #7163 – a reasonably priced early SWB Mk2 in excellent useable condition, most importantly it’s just been fitted with a brand new rear triangle so it is completely rust free!
The bike is mainly in its original specification, but with some later upgrades and new parts which include:
• Later folding pedal
• Schwalbe Marathon tyres
• Brand new replacement rear triangle and pivot pin
• Replacement mudguards
• Front luggage block
• New inner and outer cables
• New brake pads
• New standard height seat post (not shown in the photos)
• Replacement Eazy wheel rollers
• Sealed bottom bracket
This is not a museum piece (and please remember it’s now 34 years old) but it is full of charm! The original gloss red paintwork has been polished but is worn with a few minor touch ups but completely rust free, the rear triangle has now been replaced with a brand new later version in its original factory satin black finish.
Mechanically, the bike rides really well and exceptionally smoothly. The original SA 3 speed hub is quiet and shifts cleanly through all three gears. It’s just been deep cleaned and serviced to include new inner and outer cables, new mudguards, new seat post, and brake pads,
If you want it posted (postage not included) it will be sent in an original Brompton box (with a new seat height insert), or happy for you to collect from my home in West Oxford.
