I love the Schroder House... and equally love the Villa Savoye and Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavillion... but try them with affordable energy saving materials and construction and the cleanliness and delicacy of the proportions are lost. It costs a lot of money to make less with more.

I have far too much modern around me to be able to rate one box over another. Somehow it all seems to be better abroad. When we do a modern building it all just goes a bit green and looks tatty in no time.

Not my cup of tea for a house and i am amazed that it got planning permission considering that it is in such a beautiful area in Goudhurst Kent. No doubt the views will be stunning but it really is a blott on the landscape around there.

I don't mind the house but that garage is dire.

That's the one at St Fagan's.

I have friends who live in one, for 20+ years. They are quite spacious inside, and sit on a reasonable sized plot.

They own theirs (his Mum bought it and lived in it until she died), but the ones around theirs have been demolished and the number of houses squeezed onto each plot now! None of which have any car parking spaces or outdoor gardens where neighbours used to socialise over the garden fence.

That's not a house. That was Bernat Klein's design studio.

He did build a house nearby in a similar style but you can't see it from the road.
