For those who like mopeds

I had a lovely morning at Fole in Denmark yesterday. It was their annual moped meeting. Now that sounds a bit lame on paper, until you realise that mopeds and moped clubs are huge in Scandanavia and this is Denmarks biggest moped event.

More than 1700 mopeds turned up from clubs all over Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Germany. That was a good attendance as at 37 degrees, it was Denmarks hottest day on record. It was like riding into a hair dryer.

Its a really good event that has been run well for years.

There was a few Garelli’s (& a couple of rogue bikes - the Suzuki 100 was near identical to my 125 back in the day!) out yesterday in Ventnor:

If you ever get near St Quentin, in France, drop by the old Motobecane factory. Now a museum, with all kinds of stuff, it also has a large floor stuffed full of mopeds/cycles & more:

Including what looked identical to My First Moped 😎

That does look mint…but at “39,000km”, I’m guessing a full rebuild 🤷‍♂️

@Dirk so do you fully overhaul IE re paint and a mechanical overhaul or just re commissioning as needed?

Really intrigued as this is something I thinking about buying an early 70's 50cc moped and just having the occasional pootle about on .

There's so many variations of the theme .
