Forced to commute by bike :D

Well my car has died a death (no compression on all cylinders!) and it's going to take me at least 6 weeks to get any meaningful amount of money up to fix it!

Ah well at least I have my allez to keep me company! 5.5 miles, 370 ft of climbing to come in, not sure about going home but will be similar or more! Good job I love hills!!!!

everyone who knows me knows im a bit mental! i route planned my charity ride to include as many hills as possible (about 4500 ft of climbing per 50 miles!) but my mate chickened out and we went a flatter route.

personally i think im bonkers!

i did used to do a 8 mile each way commute (flat) to the office when i lived in bristol, new office doesnt have showers (yet) but i have found i am sweating less and getting in 10 minutes earlier to cool down a bit which worked wonders for me this morning! will look to stretch it out soon and bring in baby wipes and deo to save my colleagues! lol

If you live in Bristol, you've got to enjoy the hills really. Only other option is to constantly moan!

I cycle in from near the airport every day, so yes, I love the hills too :-)

i've moved to a hillier part of the country! the cycle track is very flat with a small speed bump! now i have a massive speedbump which incorporates my entire route!!! lol.

Why would you keep a car if your commute is only 5.5 miles? Those things are money pits - you may as well have been throwing money down the toilet (or better still, sending it to me).

I live in the sticks with no internet or home phone so need a car to get around. Am gonna be downgrading soon anyway so will cost me less to run and insure etc.

That's my plan for the future, once I move in with the other half I might not have a car at all

I would say just kill it lol but your get more bike bits by flogging it working! Lol. Hopefully I'll have it repaired this weekend and be able to finish moving all my stuff!

Sounds like you will be upgrading to one that works rather than downgrading from a lump of metal outside that doesn't.
