Forgot trousers once. So borrowed a pool car, drove home, and picked them up.

Forgotten shoes a few times, but got away with it.

Forgot a tie once. The day I had a big meeting. But got away with that too.

Remembered my shirt, but it picked up shoe polish from being in the same bag. Again, a big meeting and an obvious stain, so had to go into town and buy a new shirt.

Head is now properly screwed on, so won't forget that in a hurry.

Also, it sounds bloody obvious - pack your clothes the night before. And pack your clothes when you are not inebriated either.

My child starts nursery next week and it's my job to get her there. I think the only safe option is to put her to bed fully clothed the night before and leave all my own clothes at work.

Haha, well at least you have some trousers! I have nightmares of one day having to sit at my desk for the whole day dressed in lycra.

Happened to me about 6 months ago. The horror of reaching in to the ruck sack to find nothing inside apart from a spare inner tube. Lycra isn't so comfortable after 8 hours. I didn't spend too much time hanging around the coffee machine that day.

When I used to work in a local school, there was a boy there who was a bit neglected at home, and who obviously did this.

All I can say is DON'T, its never a good look.

I got 25 miles to work only to find no uniform in my bag, I spent all day in scrubs with people asking all day if I was alright. And then I did it the next day as well.

I was once the second customer of the morning in Jones the bootmaker, buying shoes as I'd forgotten mine and needed a smart pair for a customer meeting.

The guy in front of me had done exactly the same thing...

I had none of my new trousers available this morning, so I had to take a pair I have from before I started cycling to work. The only problem was that I forgot to take a belt - not good when you trousers are 5" too big for you.
I used a cord from a telephone to keep my trousers up. Not sure I got away with it, but nobody commented.

I got into the shower last year only to realise when I come out that I left my towel by my desk. It was a small office and I used to be the first one in, so I put my knickers on and a t, had a quick look down the corridor to make sure noone else was in yet, then dashed to get my towel. Left big sloppy wet footprints along the way... managed to get away with it, but my heart never beat that fast before I tell you. ;-)

I've had to dry myself with my cycling kit before, not nice.

I've forgotten every item individually on at least one occasion over the years - but thankfully never forgotten them all at once! I've always got away with nipping out to the shops, getting dried on a cycling shirt, or just wearing various bits of kit with my work clothes.
