After much deliberation on another forum, where nobody responded, I decided to go with

Drums, David Norreys, Joy Division / New Order
Electric Guitar, John McGeoch, Siouxie and the Banshees / Magazine
Instrumentalist, Brian Jones, The Rolling Stones
Bass Guitar, David Steele, The Beat / Fine Young Cannibals
Vocals, Pete Wylie, The Mighty Wah

I doubt this would be a very stable band, but if they could get two half decent albums out of them, I'd be happy.
