I haven't really written anything about this ride, but one thing I
must mention ...
I had just sped down the 17% descent into Lothersdale and was whizzing along the flatter road below at about 30 mph when two
Exocet missiles mad dogs came hurtling out of a garden towards me from my left!
I caught the movement in my peripheral vision and swerved, just missed hitting the wall on the RHS of the road. I squeezed through the gap between the wall and the dogs and sprinted away from them.
One dog was a Border Collie and the other was a Jack Russell, the latter almost managing to nip my leg. I wasn't so much worried about being nipped, as having one of them go under my front wheel and send me over the bars at high speed!
So, if any of you venture down Lothersdale on your bikes -
watch out for the dynamic duo!
