No, it's a terrible rust coloured linseed oil finish thief deterrent bike, but I like it.

My friend Carrie is likely to be waiting for us at Oxenhope (she hasn't confirmed it yet) and I said that we would be there by 10:15 so we should not be late setting off, given that we have to do this to get there...

Those little downhill segments shown in the first part of the climb don't exist in reality. The road is climbing up the edge of a steep hillside so any small lateral inaccuracies in the plot make the mapping software think that the road is way down the side of the hill.

Thanks not seen that climb profile before!

Often with a tail wind the climb North a non entity!
However going the other way it's steeper and blowing in your face!!

I have done the Spring Into The Dales audax a few times with a crazy headwind from Oxenhope to Cock Hill. I did it one year and a couple of other riders with me lagged behind. While I waited for them, I sheltered behind an ice cream van in the car parking area on the left towards the summit. They eventually arrived looking shattered. Apparently, one of them had tried to get motorists to give him a lift up the hill!

Ouch - good luck with that... I intend to organise my 3rd Hebden Bridge-based ride in the Spring. Hopefully, your knee will be okay in 5 or 6 months time!
