I am looking for a cheap MTB and have been offered a Giant but it has frame damage to the rear seat stay.

The bike is on E### item 200937558532 if anyone with a bit of know how could have a look and advise.

Thanks

I would certainly not want to buy that bike, or indeed ride it as that tube strength is certainly compromised. Think of what happens to a piece of copper pipe when you bend it, along with the way it get easier once there is a dent in the pipe.

The bike is in otherwise excellent condition, completely unmolested - the owner doesn't even realise that you're supposed to put a cap on the ends of the cables. The components are not "high end" they are "middle of the road" and if you wanted to build up a cheap commuter or winter bike I would make him a cheeky offer, strip the frame and scrap it then rebuild it on a better frame, for example a nice old skinny steel Kona or similar.
