Initial inspection reveals the chain is unworn, the brake blocks are unworn - in fact it seems as though it's been sitting in a shed since forever. There is a slight buckle in the front wheel (that I'm sure I can true out) that suggests that the original owner had a major wobble and a trifle of a crash due to the 19mm tyres and scared themselves silly. The tyres and inner-tubes will need replacing, alone with the bar tape, and I've only found one minor spot of rust and that will disappear with hardly any work. I'm thinking of a strip-down and re-grease and, voila!, there's another summer pub bike!

I can assure you that I will not be replacing them with anything that size - I don't think my track pump can extend to the sort pressures required, anyway.
