They don't have a leg to stand on and they know it. They're just trying to wear you down. Companies - even quite big companies - often do it as a matter of course, because it works. People end up giving up.
You seem to have done everything right up till now. If I were in your position I would write direct to the MD/CEO of the company, marking your envelope, by hand, 'For addressee only', enclosing relevant 'correspondence', and making it clear that you want full compensation or you will a) go nuclear on the internet, causing untold damage to their reputation, and b) sue.
I'd be very surprised if that didn't get you a very swift climb-down.
