Some properly cringeworthy additions (many of the videos especially have aged appallingly) - Good work people (I think )

East 17 before they got famous and went all boyband.
This song actually had a green agenda message and they were a bit street.
Totally forgot about that - the video's terrible the but the tune has a fair old skool vibe and it's certainly preferable to the commercial cack that came later..

It seems that nostalgia and big hair play a large part in many entries on this thread..

All a bit shameful, all bloody good tunes though

A couple of these guys had a music shop on London Rd in Leicester (Sound Pad) opposite the sideroad that the garage I worked at from 76 was located and yes they dressed like that all the time.

Too young to remember at the time, but I'm sure I would have considered it the height of uncool, not least playing such unlikely honkytonk piano with one's mother. Now, though.....another cracker, and I love to watch the grinning Hilda Woodward enjoying it so much.

The only UK #1 ever to feature a mother & son. :okay:

When I was about 10 years old the whole school went through a Bay City Rollers phase, with a generous dollop of Gary Glitter. At the time I was revolted at this aural assault but how many of my schoolmates have developed amnesia regarding the low point in Sounds Made With The Mouth.
