FNRttC Friday Night Ride to the Coast 24th September to Southend-on-Sea 2010

I was going to shave off my week's worth of beard before leaving the flat tomorrow evening, but after the disparaging remarks about facial hair I've changed my mind.

!!!! Ive just proper cracked up in my office, but not in the Humpty Dumpty way, albeit am I just back from a Chinese Buffet... So more more Georgie Porgie like.

Anyhow, am just unshaven, so its nots a tache of singluar proportions and as my Dad sprouts said tache, I am no way in any kind, shape or form willing to duplicate his offering...

Even so, I do have Scottish roots but which one of the Krankies was I being called? Am sure I have a pic or so in a few dresses.. hahahaha, for fancy dress of course! And only at the weekends...

Okay, sorry if anyone is squeemish, or about to have lunch, but here it is!!

Doctor said I had Conjunctivitus, personally, and I told them my thoughts, I am sure it was a reaction to a mossie bite. Either way, I couldnt open my eye and it was painful and extremely swollen, as you can see.

So yeh, its a first for me and luckily it happened last week, not this...

PS, am fine now so no longer a threat to anyone.. promise!!

Can't see any difference... what are we looking for in the pic?

It is looking 98% unlikely as I have to work. (And then about another ten things on top of that...)
Southend for me, is the eerie whistling of the rigging on the approach to 'Salvadore Dali's of Southend' AKA The Rose Café. For amusement, get up a head of steam (like wot your footy team needs) and try to set off the camera along the front - I think there is one on the long, flat (that word again ) straight leading to the snuggly breakfast stop.

However, is that a hint you wish to cycle back? I've just changed my cassette to the narrow range one as dont really need a wide range for this ride, so as long as there are no hills every 10 yards or long winding inclines along a certain "A2" then I think am game.. I did want to stay for drinks but, remembering there is a certain lovely and favourite ride next month, and one of which I need to re-stake my claim of sprint points leader, I now desire and wish to not cycle back next month, (I've done it once and that was enough) as lovely as Shooters Hill was too, honest, as I am prefering to getting the first round in for my lovely cycling chums instead..

I will be cycling back from Southend yes.

It will be a wise choice dear sir, one not to forget, if you can remeber it that is, and getting the train back is quite an event in itself too..
