I've drafted the Things on the approach to Ardingly. Awesome stuff. And they did hit 49 down Reigate Hill....

I used to work with a woman who was Audax champion with her husband on a tadem. She had many stories to tell, was an absolute joy to work with and said the more adept cyclists would draft tandems because the draft you get is fantastic.

There is one thing quicker down Reigate hill though then a tandem....

two things. The Royal Mail artic overtaking the Things, doing 45 at the time. And the elderly gentleman overtaking the Royal Mail artic.

Take your point, though, Lee. Nigel's descent toward Coulsdon, and his right turn in to Chipstead Valley Road was a Valentino Rossi moment. Heartstopping. With three recumbents on the ride it will be a bit like being mobbed by hornets.

I am raising money for St Francis Hospice where 2 yrs ago the lovely Pam E spent 2 weeks before she died.Pam wanted to come home as she knew she didn't have much time left and the hospice were great at getting nursing care in place and help for Pete E. She came home in the afternoon and passed away the next morning.
