I've always thought Sittingbourne was summed by the fact they've carried on displaying that "Runner up of Britain In Bloom 1999" road sign, on the stretch of road a bit before Asda.

Says it all really, that they're still proud of that, and there's been nothing more exciting since then.

We need Matt Damon on this ride! - 'The Sittingbourne Conspiracy'...

Here for rides.
Can he play the Summoner from the Wife of Bath's prologue

"But if I telle tales two or thre / Of freres er I come to Sidyngborne / That I shal make thyn herte for to morne"

Or possibly Matt is better suited to playing Henry V. Apparently he liked a pint in 'Lyon', now the 'Red Lion' on his way back to that London from sporting engagements with the French.

Meticulous training regime under way after today's warmish ride through the Chilterns... (The beer is actually very nice - can't think why I drank Guinness last time )

a delightful recce ride today, with User10571, Bridget and Susie, taking in a couple of divertissements on the established route - the latter to be called, for the sake of brevity, The West Sittinbourne And Milton Regis Manoevre With Added Historical Interest.

There's been a couple of cancellations, so we have space.

Yes I will be riding back to Orpington via Faversham, Sittingbourne, Gillingham and Rochester then cross country to Swanley and Orpington. (if I get way before the bar opens that is *cough*)
