that's it. Getting to the entrance takes a bit of working out because of the one way streets. The only problem is that there may be nobody there to take the money - hence the phone call.

You can get down to the main station concourse and join us outside platform 12 if you arrive before about 11.20

some cancellations, so there's now plenty of room

It's interesting to see how the ride has progressed, since with 67 people attending there is still room. A year or two back, this would have been a huge number!

I'm not so sure - was it last May's ride that went over the 90 mark?

I am getting a whole lot more enquiries this year, but they're not translating in to people coming on the ride. What I'm doing to put them off I've no idea, but there is a vast pool of people out there gathering their courage. I sometimes get five or six e-mails throughout a year from people I never see.

Perhaps they're rabid homophobes and have seen you in that shirt...

Getting there's not a problem with satnav in the car (it's relatively simple in any case). I would imagine that you pay at a machine inside the station before leaving rather than on entry.

I think I'll give it a shot because there is a height restriction at Park Lane which is a pain in the arse with four bikes on board.

Ee bah gum - I remember the days when there were less than 15 of us on a FNRttC - although I didn't start until the second year, so I'm not really an old timer.

what was your first outing, Adam?

I'm wondering how many of the current crop go back to the beginning. There's Charlotte, Adamski and Christian vintage of 2006 (and Charlotte was on the Newhaven Night Ride in 2005), and I think User10571 was there as well. Greg was with us in 2007, and so was Tompy, and a bunch of people we still see once in a while...Paul R and Brian P.

It didn't occur to me when we started that I should keep records.

It was indeed. My debut- 94 if I recall was the final expected total, minus one or two last-minute cancellations.
