It was 'Teef's recommendation!

I'm now at Langland Bay House, which looks ok but isn't quite so conveniently located (ie I have to ride up a bonus hill to get there when we've finished our long, leisurely brunch)

I tried half a dozen places: it looks like the town is pretty full that weekend. If anyone isn't booked yet, don't delay, or you'll end up in Llanelli!

That's very close to Chateau Claud. Susie will testify that the route there from the pier is as close to pancake-flat as makes no odds. Well, alright, there's a surprise slope on it that nearly had Dellzeqq's front wheel in the air, and the rest is a relentless drag on beer-heavy legs. But you get to go past Catherine Zeta-Jones's house! You're right on a fab beach there, Frank.

That's good news - I regard Susie as a most authoritative judge of whether a road is flat or not. There is a chevron on the other side of the bay which, while not on my route, had been giving me some cause for concern...

odd calls from CTC peeps? Oodathortit.

60 I've scrubbed a couple of the list because their cheques didn't turn up, and I've not got the heart to chase them. It took three years for the London rides to get to 60......

The last cheque (John P - another Dr.) will go in today - he's the person that called me as I was 'taking my ease' in Llantwit Major. I've softened and allowed a couple of people to join The Fridays by phone, but that's the end of that - I can't entirely wear out my welcome at CTC Membership.

I counted the number of recruits to the CTC via The Fridays this morning. 118 - less four who have moved from 'full' to affiliate membership. And there's been about half a dozen who have joined at the full rate. For someone so disenchanted with the present direction of the CTC this is an odd position to be in.

Tickets booked for Monday night/Tuesday morning's Tesco Toilet Tour. I'm chasing Vale of Glamorgan on the Llantwit Major loos. I think we're in fine fettle.

Susie did indeed comment on the 'flatness' of the roads. I have the solicitor's letter to prove it.

The human spirit level!

Emphasis on the bubbly bit, of course.

Must be a good chance of picking up an award for that...

:stop: Not that shirt again. Adrian and Matt's offerings are bad enough - the post ride sartorial parades are looking like an explosion in a fruit pie factory these days...
