Could somebody lend me a spare second front light for tomorrow, as well as Becs? I do have one decent front light but a back-up would be cool.

Reason I don't want to purchase a second light myself at this moment is that I'll have a new cycle-to-work scheme that I can start on 1 July, so seems a waste to spend money now without the tax benefits.

Cheers

I'm sure I'll have one spare if you need it, CoG.

I'm trying to decide between shorts and leg warmers, or tights. I think shorts are likely to be OK, given it's been pretty mild recently, but it can get a bit nippy in the early hours, after we leave 3amses.

I suspect it'll be a bit too brisk for a short sleeved jersey, although I could just pack a long sleeved one as well, and pull that on top, if it gets too nippy.

Decisions, decisions ...

I'll have a spare rear light if anyone needs.... but 'tis a 1/2 watt so you'll not be popular unless you are at the back with the TECs.

Planning to be using my "dim" one on this ride.

Versatility is the way to go. Shorts and knee warmers. Short sleeved jersey and arm-warmers. Lightweight gilet. Long gloves with short ones for the morrow. Sunglasses for the morning as well. Hat and sun-block would be sensible.

I think you're probably correct. Arm and leg warmers with shorts and a short sleeved jersey, and possibly a thin long sleeved layer to wear when it's cooler and we're hanging about a bit.

I don't have any sunglasses, but I do have my, so far unused, Yehuda Moon cap, which should be useful for keeping the sun out of my eyes shortly after sunrise.

Metcheck and XC say its gonna be between 7-9 degrees in an around half way so I reckon on getting a little cold before it warms right up again !

Working night shifts should be good preparation,

Same here with some knee warmers for the early hours, and possibly a windproof just in case.

I've been sat in the garden recovering from last night's festivities by eating lots and drinking beer in the sun.

Can't wait now to ride to the seaside and enjoy the day in the sun

Just finished getting ready. I am riding up to town, so leaving soon. Didn't make any flapjacks, but did manage a nice nap! See you all at HPC

Cycled to Bognor this afternoon from a station 8 miles away, absolutely lovely. The sea is like a mill pond ( may have to swim tomorrow :-) Have a great ride and I'll see you all at the cafe! Just don't let me get too drunk because I have to cycle to Granny's for tea! :-)
