FNRttC Friday Night Ride to the Coast - Southend on Sea June 29th - the Genteel Ride

Muggy, close, possibility of rain - a heavy shower is forecast for 7am. But with a hefty tailwind. The waterproofs will be in the pannier, and more sensible clothes too.

Does anyone rate my chances of replacing a Brompton front brake cable sometime in the next hour or so? It turned out, when I investigated last night, to be completely seized in the outer.

Sadly R will not be with me tonight - she's not well. The Essex version of female evening dress will have to be reserved for another night.

GWS Rachel! It was a sequinned miniskirt I believe. Bring it along, Stephen, someone else might be persuaded to put it on?

I'll ask Stephen if he's got room in the Brompton's carrier! Should I include the fishnet stockings as well (I was working on the basis that cycling shorts would hold them up adequately)?

Otherwise the TECs are going to be patching punctures, which works, but takes even longer.

I should have some Brompton inner tubes around, but I have no idea where they are, and little inclination to spend the next couple of hours searching!

Just back from a short cameo on the ride having found myself in the HPC environs post pub. Thanks Titus for the BB loan, London Bridge is about as far as you'd want to go on one of those. Looks like it'll be a very pleasant ride of a warm summers night. Nice to say hello to a few people if only too briefly - maybe will spot some people on the Dun run as well.
