It's a bit more complicated than that...
I tried on my old DJ and dress shirt tonight. They will act as a very effective air brake. Fortunately the weather looks warm enough that riding without a jacket won't be that uncomfortable, providing the assorted masses of genteel riders don't object to a gentleman appearing in public in shirtsleeves.

Get well soon TJ!

Thank you folks for your kind words. It's just the usual chest infection, and I've got antibiotics, so it should be under control by the weekend, but I had to admit to myself a night ride wasn't sensible. I did email dellzeqq, of course. I hate dropping out at the last minute.

Sorry to hear you won't be with us Clarion, but it sounds like a sensible decision. We've occasionally had people with mild chest problems, and coming out of the 3amses, into the suddenly (relatively) cold air, can be rather bad.

The conditions are forecast to be relatively mild, and clear, the cat is earning his upkeep for once.

I may bring one of my cans of Self Heating Rocket Fuel (I kid you not!) to drink before the start. ^_^

I am shocked that a gentleman would even consider such a sartorial blunder.
