I seem to have fallen off the list as well? see post #4 and original (edited) list in post #1.

Confirmation of new blog stuff, mobile no. etc e-mailed to you when I booked for Felpham... presumably you don't need it for each individual ride?
you're on the list - about 3/4 of the way down. I don't need the 'stuff' every time, but an e-mail is nice

sorry, Martin, I was so taken with the artful construction of your sentences that I completely forgot to divine the meaning
Let me know if your divination is fruitful - but what do you expect? This is the internet!
Alternatively, I could start talking about gear ratios, Greg's makeover, stealth GPS for those whose spirit is willing but the fetish is weak, Long Tall Martin's cupboard love for Adrian (particularly the cupboard with the camp shirt selection within) how many metres ascent along The Mall or ask if anyone has made the effort to organise a street party - for any reason (This sort of thing usually auto-prompts a Republican ride from Adrian BTW - CycleChat's answer to the Marquis de Sade - no, not the singer, the Republican). Would Jubilieve it?

Diamond idea
Absolutely. I've already told SWMBO that I won't be around that day!

So.... say someone needed to get the miles in, and was contemplating a ride home from this...... Would it be a good one to break one's SMRBTH cherry? (and are there decent bail points on the way home?)

This is probably the best SMRbtH to use as a first one. It's pancake flat, there's a fair number of bail points but you won't need them. You'll be home before you know it. I've been in my house by 12.30 on one of them.

As Martin said above.
It's the easiest rides home of the SMRbtH.
Flat as the proverbial pancake and yes there are plenty of bailouts as the route follows the rail line back to London.
And seeing as you are in Crystal Palace, it's just a hop over the Dartford Crossing and on to Bromley.

Even I managed it - and I'd never cycled more than 60 miles before that. . . . . . just watch out for Ian's U-turns and horse poo on the cycle path
