You cant get lost. The beauty of whitstable is that the breakfast cafe is also a bar. So you can have beer with your fry up.

Now i know why everyone keeps telling me whistable is the best ride out. Bit early for beer but a bourbon wouldn't go a miss.

Need to refil my hip flask. We drank it at the half way stop to Brighton. Certainly warmed us up but did not dry us out but we never caught a cold so it must work medically lol

I have friends producing work for the biennale.
There's always the option(s) of an 8 mile ride, either across the marshes or along the Crab & Winkle Way to catch the HS1 from Faversham or Canterbury West to St Pancras.
This has almost become my default way of returning from Vista Belle.

I will be a Crab & Wrinkle rider, to Canterbury, then train home via Tonbridge, for me it's not such s bad journey. I need to be away fairly promptly because peeps are visiting for late lunch.

They obviously do not realise that the more we are carried, the less time we have to spare......

Thinking about this ride led me to reminiscing about the June 2012 ride - the one that started under Waterloo Bridge and led into a long bank-holiday weekend full of street parties and suchlike. I looked back at the old thread and came across this:
