Riding into town to catch up with an ex colleague who I've not seen for a year or so. A lovely guy who took his work seriously and had an all consuming family of 4 kids who've all left home; the kind of retiree I worry for.

It's tanking down here but the garden will be rejoicing. As will Mrs. 666 who was starting to get arms like the Smash Monsters carrying watering cans around the place to keep her plants alive. I'm sitting in the cave doing a spot of work, supping a coffee and contemplating what to do on the weekend. Decisions, decisions...

Been on radio silence most of this week. Lots of DIY to do that always takes 3x the vastly underestimated amount of time to complete.
Buy vintage oak coffee table for a song. Dismantle. Use top to make bespoke computer desk in alcove. Fit said desk. Dispose of rest of carcass.
Before fitting desk, rewire house ethernet cables that run in trunking beside desk. Find trunking too small for new Cat6 cables. Get new trunking. Decide a new 8 port 2.5Gb Switch might be the way forward instead of the current crammed 5 port 1Gb Switch. Run new cables for when we get FTTP next year at much higher speeds.

It's nice when a job is finally finished.

Blue skies here after drizzle start. Might get on a bike?
