A random comment, and not helpful at this stage, is that, from my experience of designing sports kit (a rowing top at university 20-odd years ago) you can design something that looks great close up, but from a distance, you can get a bit of colour blending and it can look different.

I think a big red star on black will be fine, but my design, which involved three hoops (red, blue, red) on a white shirt, looked a bit orange from a distance. I always wished I'd made the stripes a bit wider, and put the darker colour, ie blue on the outside.

Also, are there bibshorts etc? Ones with a big hole at the back to epitomise the full moon might go down well...

ha! The shirt is quite griefsome enough, thankyou, without having to construct a chart of FNRttC bottom sizes.

I can't remember who persuaded me to do the shirt thing, but when I search back through my e-mails they're going to be in big trouble......

I like the red blue- (with a broad pink band on the left sleeve) star, and will stick with that please. Honestly! They'll be wanting sausage butties at the halfway stops next!

I'm with TC on this - prefer the red star over a blue one, without or with pink strips. Red contrasts better against the black. And I don't give a monkey's about any political and/or nationalistic connotations.

But... I'll continue to hold back on ordering until a merino option materialises. I just don't get on with polyester, even over a merino base layer. Maybe especially over a merino base.

I've expressed my view by e-mail but thought it worth putting my head above the parapet here in case others feel the same! And I'm willing to pay a higher premium for wool than I bet Ianrauk is for blue!

It's a beautiful design though DZ, can't wait to see a mob of FNRttCpeeps in them one moonlit night!

In the old days people were free to devour as much sausage as they could put away but, as you can imagine, the queues were just too long...
