Front brakes sound rough

Front brakes on new road back sounds like it scratching. Back ones sound fine. Have taken them off, checked for grit and put back but still there.

Should I replace or not worry?

are your rims clean and free of grit and dirt etc? including the slots on the braking surface?

Think so, it's been like this from day 1. Cleaned it all around and took pads off a cleaned them.

all cables running smooth and free and everything adjusted? some/many (including my self) file there brake pads to make sure they are flat have you checked this?
is it a scratching or just a squealing /squeaking

Closer inspection found metal fragments embedded in the pads! Walk to the lbs no planned!

You can dress the surface of the pads with a smoothish flat file I have to do mine pretty regular after its been wet for a while

that really doesn't help then! i had a pair of old pads wear through till the metal backing was showing in one area! given you did have to give yourself more distance than the distance of the ride to stop!

Picked out all the fragments, and filed it diwn until flat. Now much better. Thanks all.

good good wouldn't want one of us hurt and you wouldn't want to be buying new rims!
