In a word - no. You won't notice any difference, apart from a reduced bank balance.

Do you mean the chainset or just the rings? I don't know but I should imagine it would be a matter of a few grams. Performance wise better tyres would be a better choice.

Just the front chainrings. Ive got zondas, with durano plus tyres, with ultegra rear cassette and chain which are new.so not worth getting new chainrings until they are knackered then?

If wear wasn't the issue, then logically - what sort of 'improvement' would you have expected from just changing the chain rings? (the answer is 'none' by the way).

"it just rides better, more responsive shifting and the 36.768 grams weight reduction and improved aluminium makes hills a cinch."

Or something.

The shifting refers to the shifters and derailleurs. Apart from a little weight difference you will not notice any difference between 105 and Ultegra or Dura ace chain rings or cassettes.
