Front Derailleur - what are these for..

Bought a FD and got these but wondering what they're for?

Like Ikea and other furniture.... there are always spare parts at the end

That is their entire purpose

I believe that they are protector pads for the frame

Although this article is for electric brakes, it does show them being fitted

... and here where the screw is hitting the pad as opposed to the frame:

Yeh theirs a grub screw on the derailleur but doesnt really do much lol

It is important as it allows you to a) fine tune the fd and b) stops the mech twisting round (as the cable tension is quite high)
