Ok, had the same question as OP. Think i am going to go for this ebay one. This seems cheaper than the aldi one considering aldi sale is 8.99 per light and seems like these would be good enough.
You do realise that by "seems legit" I really mean "does not seem at all legit, is far, far too bright for road use, probably with a horribly dazzling beam pattern, and may well explode upon charging"?

Oh no, didnt pick up on the sarcasm. Right so that is no good then. Will have a look at some of the others recomended on this thread.

I can recommend Moon as a brand. I have the Moon Meteor 200 and it is simply brilliant, in both senses. On maximum power it will set fire to hedgerows and lasts an hour, on the middle level it is good enough for unlit country lanes at average speeds, and it has a flash function for bright sunlight. I pop it off the bike at work and recharge from USB on my computer. It's about the size of a matchbox, and it I lost it I would buy another tomorrow. About £50, worth every penny.

I have had lots of cheap lights, not lots, loads. I was forever charging batteries or forgetting to.

I realised I was throwing money away and had my bike fitted with a hub dynamo and Busch and Mueller lights. That was 2 years ago. I have a 20 km commute in the darkest of Denmark and the lights are excellent. They are always switched on and I dont have to do anything with them.

They were certainly worth the expense.

If you can stretch to about £100 I can highly recommend the C&B Seen City Slicker twin pack. Front and rear. Really good build quality (alloy), twin T6 L2 front LED with no stupid modes and a Twin LED mega powerful rear light. USB rechargeable and the Panasonic lipo batteries are replaceable.

Very impressed. The other option is a Hope Vision One, bit expensive but bomb proof.

On its third winter now, I rarely use the most powerful setting even on unlit country lanes. The flash is too bright so I don't use that, though. I use the weakest setting in the mornings to be seen by (30-40 mins riding) and the 2nd most powerful in the evenings in the dark (25 mins riding) . A charge lasts a week at least.

Happy with the Moon X-power 500. Run it on 200 setting will give about 4 hours. Plenty enough light on lower settings for urban use. The beam can be too "spot" for some....
As theyr'e an older model they can be found at low(ish) prices.
It is the same as a Serfas tsl-s 500 with a higher (2600 mAh instead of 2300 mAh) battery.
I like Xeccon's also (one23) in the UK.
They are cheaper from mtbrevolution.com.
Dx.com for "Magicshines".
Smart Lunar 60 on rechargeables....

Update on the Moon Meteor: I bought a Meteor 250 (200 no longer available) as a reserve/helmet light. The 200 promptly lost its flashing function, although it worked fine on steady. I sent it back and eventually got a replacement. The replacement has lasted about a year and the same thing has happened again. The 250 continues to work well. However, I can't recommend the brand any more as 12 months' service is not really acceptable these days. When they die, they will be binned. The Lezyne XL1200 I bought as a main light for dark lanes is brilliant, in both senses.

[Edit: just checked, and it's the 250 that has failed in flash mode, not the second 200.]

Just bought a lezyne hecto drive 350, cracking little light, got it as a backup for my Fenix BC30. Can certainly recommend it. 350 lumens is more than sufficient for a moderate commute, and it's got a couple of blinky modes
