I can't remember 100% (and Mrs Kes is out on the bike so can't check atm) but I'm fairly certain they are J-bend spokes. The bearings are the usual Fulcrum sealed cartridge bearings.

Thanks , I find I am to heavy for J- bend/low spoke count wheels , they look quite good as well

For now you could just squirrel away any money that you would have been spending on bike bits, maybe in a savings account for the interest, and then when you're back in the saddle there'll be a nice fat wedge - shopping time!
Hahaha interest on savings, what's that? Lucky to get 2% max

The fulcrum 5s are now on the Pearson and the Omega/tiagra hub wheels on the Genesis. Of course, now the copper beauty needs better wheels, was rather nicer to ride with the fulcrums of course! I don't really want to spend as much as 2014 fulcrum 5 money right now, so what else might feel better?

These look to be heavily discounted, any good? http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/ro...e=Googlebase&gclid=CLigvLKti78CFevpwgodeyAAJQ

The white would look very pretty

Or the rs31? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-rs31-road-bike-wheelset/rp-prod109980

Or something else up to max £150? Has to take a SRAM cassette

I am not the lightest and generally ride on rubbish road surfaces!

RS31s are heavy although if they're like the RS30's, very well made.

Campag Vento perhaps? There are one or two variants aesthetically to choose from..?

It is the practical bike. The rack is a recent addition. The carbon pave is the naked bike when I don't need stuff!

Unfortunately it would be a little small for you...and the saddle would cripple! It's bad enough for me, but getting better, fortunately as it cost £££ as I had to have a grey one!!
