Raceblade Longs, almost 100% coverage (only the bottom half of seat post is not full cover) and less than 5 minutes to put on and take off (as long as you do not mind leaving the QR set up in place.

+1

Fitted these last weekend. Really pleased - The brakes aren't fully covered either but they do a grand job of keeping the flob off. Took about 35/30 mins to fit . . . well, about 15 mins to fit and 15 mins to adjust to stop any rubbing  Takes less than a minute to remove using the QR system. You just have the ugly metal clips sticking out after you do so.

I think they'll stay permanently on commuter, assuming I get a new "sunday best" bike before summer

Raceblade long's are very good and I have only had positive comments by others riding on my wheel in group rides. If you want the best of both, hack a pair of Raceblade longs and some Crud road racers togegether to use the Raceblades but with the front section of the Crud's to keep the front mech clean.

After flying over the handlebars due to the front mudguard jamming up I have no faith in any mudguards at the moment.
I taken the front one off , a lot wetter but feel safe.
At what price Health & Safety (can you tell i am studying for a level 3 NVQ in H&S) ?
