If you take preciousness too far, you will end up with plastic sheeting protecting your new carpets.

It's not healthy.

Carpets are made to be walked on. Bikes are not made to be scratched.

Vaguely on topic....
Mick Doohan, when donning pristine new racing leathers for the first time, would throw himself on the ground to christen them before racing.
Apparently it was not an uncommon superstition among bike racers back in the day.

Thanks all. Now I've calmed down slightly, I'll try to touch it up once I get home from work.

To be fair to you, it's not damaged anything structurally and it's scuffed on a reasonable color - I've got scratches and chips over my CX which uses a color that is Hellishly impossible to replicate, so for the most part it's stickers or nothing : /

Happy paintin : p

Waay back in the 70s a friend of mine bought a brand new red and black Honda CX 500. He rode home and picked up his brother then they set off for a test ride but as they left the cul de sac were stopped behind the dust cart, which had stopped because the crew had missed someones's bin and the householder was berating them. Suddenly the bin lorry went into reverse and the two of them just managed to jump clear as it reversed right over the CX500. Ooops.

Hi. Is it just the clear coat that has been damaged or has it scratched into the red paint work underneath. If its just the clear coat that damaged you could try one of those invisible scratch "pens" they sell for cars. They work really well but only if the clear coat is damaged. I can imagine you where sickened by the sight of it, when you first clapped eyes on it. I know I would be. I hope you get it sorted buddy. :-)

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to have a closer look later.
