Are you likely to still enjoy cycling when the techie stuff indicates that you have peaked and are now on the downward spiral? Just asking, cos that's the situation I find myself in. It's obvious without the need to refer to instrumentsI like to know how fast and how far I've travelled. I like to know that my fitness is improving and that my averages are going in the right direction.

I took the precaution of never achieving my genetic potential when I was younger. My plan was to try a little bit harder each year, enough to offset the ageing process. I had a similar theory regarding acquisition of certificates of academic knowledge. I noticed an older person achieving a certain level of certification received great acclaim than a young person achieving the same level of certifcation, and decided to leave my advanced studies until later in my career.
