I think those are overhead power lines ,so a railway

Those in the know will be able to identify the likely age of the overhead equipment, eg 60s or 80s/90s and narrow down the railway lines to search.
For 1960s that would likely be the West Coast Main Line, or later for the East Coast or branches from Leeds.

It's a road called Piccadilly, in Lancaster itself.
I can't work out the links to Google maps from the phone, but here's a screenshot.

There's a lot more vegetation in your photo, but features at the front of the house make it clear that it's the same place.
 

Well done. The bridge carries the Tissington Trail over the road, and I had come off here to get to Hartington Hall hostel.
