If the road is still unidentified when I get home I will search for it then.

No joy after 45 minutes of searching, but that has at least encouraged me to get back up there this year for a few rides!

I think those are overhead power lines ,so a railway

Those in the know will be able to identify the likely age of the overhead equipment, eg 60s or 80s/90s and narrow down the railway lines to search.
For 1960s that would likely be the West Coast Main Line, or later for the East Coast or branches from Leeds.

It's a road called Piccadilly, in Lancaster itself.
I can't work out the links to Google maps from the phone, but here's a screenshot.

There's a lot more vegetation in your photo, but features at the front of the house make it clear that it's the same place.

I can't tell which way it's looking. It must be an A or B road with that central line, but I can't find anything similar beside a coast and with that backdrop.
Anyone recognise the hills on the horizon?
