Rugby cement works ? , They are to the Eastern side of Rugby so shot is south of Rugby if I'm correct about the cement works

Was thinking it could be this town, from farther away, but I can't find the viewpoint.

I think that you might be right and if so, I have a good idea of where we might be looking from. Unfortunately, I have to stop looking for now because I have a guest arriving and need to prepare food. I'll check in later to see if I should continue the search!

I thought you might recognise this city! In any case, I probably won't get much time this evening so good luck if you get there first.
nb I know that there are several viewpoints where you get this kind of panorama (if I'm in the right place), but I'm damned if I can find them on a map now.

My guest has been and gone, so the search continues!

(I nearly got distracted by trying to find a location featured in the TV drama that we watched. I'll do that if/after I find this location.)

I may not be right, but I remember getting a view very similar to that one on one of my Midlands rides. It is frustrating me that I can't even find that one! I'll give it another 20-30 minutes then I will pack in for today to go and catch up on the pro cycling coverage.

I still can't track down my viewpoint to check it. I remember being surprised that I could see the city centre from so far away.

Ride and food break now... More searching later. Even if someone else finds this road, I want to track down mine now!!

Not only can I not find this road, I can't even find the one that I remembered northish of Coventry. I cycled down from Hebden Bridge once and recall spotting the city centre in the far distance, and being very surprised that there was nothing in the way. It had been a very hard ride (about 225 km with over 3,000 m of ascent, luggage in panniers) so it kind of stuck in my memory!

I am now wondering if I mixed that memory up with one from another ride, and another place... I am going to leave this search for a while now because I am spending too much time on it. I will return later if there are more clues or inspiration strikes me.

I have enjoyed looking at the little Warwickshire lanes that I cycled as a child and again in my 40s and 50s though. I had forgotten how Devon-like some of them are - very narrow, with high hedges.

I'm starting to wonder if I've been looking in entirely the wrong place.
