Is the rainbow a distraction? Here's another image taken on a different day; the triangular rock close to the road gives a common point of reference:

But I should point out that the rainbow gives a strong directional steer which is not present in the second image.

Here, on A747 from Portwilliam to Glenluce, on the south coast of Dumfries and Galloway.

I didn't remember any pointed stones, but just thought back to coastal roads I've been along that looked rather like that. An astonishingly easy search in the end.
