My friend's got a firepit - a big dish shaped thing for putting stuff on to sate his pyromaniacal tendencies. It makes for a great evening, sitting round with a few beers and whatnot. I think we'll have one or two this year - I'm moving my TR7 to his garage, which needs a new roof.

Our cast iron chimnea just died and need a new one soon, death due to over use. I used to find attaching a couple of meters of copper tube to an empty beer bottle, heat in a hot fire and glass blowing the bottle good fun, produced interesting vases for mrs brewer

Our clay chimnea died in the hurricane winds of 2014 .... Debating on cast iron version or a firepit.

Be thankful OP - you are not my neighbour .... I had a fire going from 6pm Saturday night until the wee hours of Sunday. 3 tree trunks (and associated branches, twigs etc etc ) were fed to the fire gods, whilst i danced the pagan ritual with Fosters

Sad to see that some posters find the pollution of the atmosphere a humorous subject! What's next laughing at fly tipping?
